Hi, I'm Sky!
I’m Sky Shih-Kai Hong — you can call me Sky!
I’m a first-year Master’s student at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. I am now advised by Prof. Grace Yu-Chun Yen at the HAIX (Human AI & Creative Computing) Lab. (We have a new website 🎉)
My research interests are in Social Computing and Personal Informatics. Broadly, I’m interested in how people observe and make sense of everyday digital behavior, especially in collaborative settings. Right now, I’m leading a lab project on cross-participant awareness tools for online brainstorming, with a focus on how private and lightweight signals can help people move from unspoken thoughts to public contribution.
Recently, I'm also exploring a project on AI for social-issue reflection, where we test different AI roles (interviewer, mentor, opponent) to help people clarify what they think before discussion.
I am attending CHI 2026 as an Student Volunteer!
This is my first time in Europe, my first CHI, and my first time serving as an SV at an international conference — I’m super excited (and a bit nervous 😆) to learn from everyone and make new friends!
Outside of research, I enjoy story-driven games (ADV / JRPG / FFXIV), playing harmonica, and writing blog posts — if you’re into any of these or my research interests, feel free to DM me!
